Huiswerkbegeleiding voor studenten, ver weg en toch dichtbij.
Tijdens de pandemie zijn alle activiteiten in het Casa Lumina-gebouw tijdelijk stopgezet, voor alle studenten die daar zijn inschreven. Het spreekt voor zich dat we ook iedereen willen beschermen tegen dit vreselijke virus, de kinderen, hun ouders en onszelf. Dit was natuurlijk ook vereist door de overheid.
Momenteel worden we allemaal wel op de een of andere manier geconfronteerd met dit 'isolement', voor de een meer dan voor anderen. Het is zeker ook een heel moeilijke periode voor de kinderen waarmee we werken. Sommigen moeten nu helaas alleen thuis blijven omdat de ouders (gelukkig) nog kunnen werken. Bovenal missen de kinderen natuurlijk hun klasgenoten, de "Casa Lumina-familie" en de vrijheid om vrienden, vriendinnen en andere familie te bezoeken waarvan elk kind vóór COVID 19 kon genieten.
Sommige kinderen in deze grote groep krijgen huiswerk van school en anderen zijn gewoon blij met de vakantie, maar de meeste kinderen zouden liever verder leren en moeten nu binnen blijven zonder hun vrienden. Ook voor de gezinnen waar we mee werken is het een moeilijke periode, want voor de meeste gezinnen daalt ook het salaris en het was al niet zo hoog. Hoewel we ons in deze moeilijke tijd bevinden, zijn we niet verslagen. We hebben ook regelmatig contact met de ouders van de kinderen en proberen we ze zoveel mogelijk te stimuleren en te helpen. We houden online contact met de kinderen die zoveel mogelijk huiswerk krijgen van school, dan praten we over van alles zodat ze zich niet alleen of verlaten voelen.
We zijn van mening dat alle dingen een doel hebben en we vertrouwen erop dat deze periode opnieuw zal voorbij gaan. We kunnen dan bijna niet wachten om de kinderen weer te zien. Omdat ze gedwongen zijn deze periode thuis door te brengen, hopen we dat de kinderen en ouders zullen beseffen hoe belangrijk school is en hoe leuk het is om ergens heen te gaan. We bidden God om bescherming over ons, over de kinderen en hun families.

During the pandemic, all activities in the Casa Lumina building are temporarily halted for all students who are registered there. It goes without saying that we also want to protect everyone from this terrible virus, the children, their parents and ourselves. This is of course also required by the government.
Currently, we are all somehow confronted with this 'isolation', for some more than for others. It is certainly also a very difficult period for the children we work with. Some unfortunately now have to stay at home alone because the parents (fortunately) can still work. Above all, of course, the children miss their classmates, the "Casa Lumina family" and the freedom to visit friends and other family that every child could enjoy before COVID 19.
Some children in this large group receive homework from school and others are just happy with the holidays, but most children would rather continue learning and now have to stay indoors without their friends. It is also a difficult period for the families we work with, because for most families the salary also go down and it was not that high. Although we are in this difficult time, we have not been defeated. We also have regular contact with the parents of the children and we try to encourage and help them as much as possible. We keep in touch online with the children who get as much homework as possible from school, then we talk about everything so that they don't feel alone or abandoned.
We believe that all things have a purpose and we trust that this period will pass again. We can hardly wait to see the children again. Because they are forced to spend this period at home, we hope that the children and parentswill realize how important school is and how much fun it is to go somewhere. We pray to God for protection over us, over the children and their families.

   Centrul de zi pentru copii departe de copii, dar totuși aproape.
Pe perioada pandemiei am suspendat activitatea cu copiii la sediul Centrului de zi pentru copii al Fundației "Est Europa" deoarece ne-am dorit ca atât noi cât și copiii și familiile lor să fie protejate de acest virus cumplit și pentru ca am fost nevoiți, conform regulilor impuse.
Fiecare dintre noi ne confruntăm într-o măsură mai mare sau mai mică cu "izolarea" în perioada aceasta. Este de asemenea o perioadă grea și pentru copiii cu care noi lucrăm deorece unii dintre ei sunt singuri acasă, părinții fiind la serviciu. Dar celor mai mulți le lipsește "familia din Centrul de zi", colegii de școlă și libertatea de mișcare de care se bucura fiecare copil înainte de COVID 19.
Doar o parte dintre copiii din ciclul primar primesc activități (teme sau lecții), ceilalți se "bucură sau întristează" de vacanță, dar în casă, fără colegi sau prieteni.
Știm că este o perioadă dificilă mai ales pentru familiile cu care noi lucrăm, veniturile fiind și așa puține... Totuși, suntem în necaz, dar nu ne dăm bătuți. Periodic păstrăm legătura cu părinții copiilor și încercăm să-i încurajăm, să le fim alături cum putem. De asemnea, cu o parte dintre copii facem lecții online, sau pur și simplu discutăm cu ei ca să nu se simtă singuri sau abandonați.
Credem că toate lucrurile au un scop și suntem încredințați că această perioadă va trece și abia așteptăm să-i revedem pe copii. Sperăm că datorită acestui timp petrecut în casă, copiii și părinții vor realiza cât de importantă este școala și cât de plăcut este să ai unde merge.
Ne rugăm pentru protecția lui Dumnezeu asupra noastră și asupra copiilor și familiilor cu care noi lucrăm.
